Recipes have a tendency to overrun a kitchen, especially if there’s a cook in the house. Tackle your recipes by tossing any you haven’t used in ages or those recipes that just didn’t quite turn out. The size of your recipe cards can determine which system you should use unless you want to overhaul it all together. Index cards work well in a labeled recipe box or a small photo album. Full sheet recipes do well in a three-ring binder. If you prefer room to grow, choose the binder and simply tape your index cards to larger sheets of paper. Handy dividers make for easy organizing either by ingredient or dish type. Lots of folks print out recipes from the internet. These can go in the three ring binder as well. Recipes from magazines are also good to put in the three ring binder. No sense in holding on to all of those magazines if you are only saving them for one or two recipes. Make sure to use sheet protectors to protect the recipes from getting splashed or spilled on. This is a fun project to do and once it’s done, you feel so much better. Bon appetit!
