Well, this is sort of a rant, but I’ll try to be nice since it’s my blog post and I really want to come off as professional, but it really gets to me when women (and men) say they are going to do something and then don’t do it. I guess it is how I was raised, but if I say I am going to do something, such as attend a party or a function, the host or hostess know that I will be there. I usually bring something too. It is not a generation thing because most people my age are the offenders. So you might be saying, “what the heck does this have to do with organizing”. Well, here’s the answer. If somebody makes an appointment with me, I expect them to keep it. Now, we’re all not perfect and sometimes stuff happens, but no phone call. Oh I forgot. I’m sorry, that just doesn’t cut it especially when it happens repeatedly. Get it together people. Don’t you understand how your being unorganized affects other people? Your kids, your husband, your family, your friends, your coworkers, your clients? I guess I am old enough to have learned what the important things in life are. Have you? If you feel like you are a pinball being bounced around in a machine being bounced around by a flipper or one of those dingy things, then maybe you need to wake up and take a look at yourself. Get organized, get focused and be a woman of your word! Mary Kay Ash lived by the principle of God First, Family Second, Career Third. Makes perfect sense to me. That is all.
